I Sound Just Like Marcus Did (Apparently)

Dad's been doing this thing where he compares old videos of Marcus at my age to me now. Turns out we sound exactly the same at one year ten months. Same words, same voice, even the same little inflections. It's kind of wild when you think about it—two years apart but hitting the same milestones at the same time.

I'm talking a lot more these days. Bath time is where I really shine because I've got all these little sea creature toys that I love. I can say fish, whale, dolphin, and turtle pretty clearly now. I'm working on orca but that one's still coming together. The routine is solid: Dad hands me a toy, says the word, I repeat it back, and then I put it in the bath. Or sometimes I grab one and show it to him first. Either way, we've got a good system going.

I'm also getting better with names. I can say Brandon (that's Dad), Lisa (that's Mom), Memo (Grandma), and Benpaw (Grandpa). Those last two are my American grandparents, by the way. Marcus has been speaking to me in English more lately too, which is cool. Dad was worried about Marcus's English when he was little because we're in Japan, but he talks to us full speed in English anyway and doesn't hold back with vocabulary. Seems to be working out.

So yeah, apparently I'm on the same track Marcus was on. Dad seems relieved about that.
